๐Ÿ’ก Ways to lower your AWS bill

  • Savings Plans or Reserved Instances cut steady EC2, Fargate and RDS costs well below on-demand rates.
  • Run fault-tolerant or batch work on Spot Instances.
  • Use S3 Intelligent-Tiering for data whose access pattern changes.
  • Turn off dev and test environments outside working hours.
  • Set up AWS Budgets alerts so surprises show up early.
  • Delete unused EBS volumes, snapshots, Elastic IPs and idle load balancers.
  • 11 core services

EC2, Lambda, ECS on Fargate, EKS, S3, EBS, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudFront, Route 53 and Amplify Hosting.

  • Transparent breakdown

Every service shows what you're paying for โ€” compute, storage, requests, transfer โ€” and the rate used.

  • Share your estimate

Copy a plain-text summary for a client or teammate, or export the full estimate as JSON.

  3. Check the breakdown and totals, then copy or export the summary.

How accurate is it?

The calculator uses a fixed set of approximate public on-demand prices in USD, mostly for the US East (N. Virginia) region; other regions are adjusted with a rough multiplier for EC2 only. Real bills also depend on tax, support plans, data transfer between services, free-tier eligibility and discounts like Savings Plans. Treat the result as a ballpark and confirm it with the official AWS Pricing Calculator (opens in a new tab) before committing to a budget.
